Static Load Testing

NDT offer 2 variations of Static Load Testing Methodology

1 - Reaction Frame Static Load Test

Every force has an equal and opposite reaction - not our discovery but a well established law of physics. In order to provide suitable reaction to the applied load during a static test we have a variety of reaction frames designed to suit most anchor pile design requirements - (see reaction frame drawings)
Bespoke reaction frames can also be supplied upon request.

2 - Kentledge Static Load Test

For bored, cast-in-situ piles where anchor piles cannot be installed, the use of a kentledge reaction system can be an appropriate testing solution.
Kentledge test weights are generally transported and mobilised to site using articulated HGV's. Therefore access to the test area is to be considered in advance of NDT attendance.

Static Load Testing

Static load tests are carried out in order to assess the performance of a test pile when subjected to a predetermined load.

Pile settlement can be determined at the working load and at multiples of the working load.

In addition the ultimate bearing capacity of the test pile can be calculated.

  • ICE SPERWall & Reporting

Pile displacement is monitored in accordance with ICE SPERWALL requirements.

For all tests a full report is dispatched to the client upon collation of all data, with initial preliminary findings issued immediately.

Reports contain tabulated data along with graphical representations of:

Load vs Settlement, Load vs Time & Displacement

    TITAN Systems

TITAN systems are controlled, automated, programmable load applicators for static load tests of piles, anchors and soil nails.

The system enables the test controller to apply a schedule of load steps and to maintain the load for any duration. It’s remote system records pile and reaction movement and presents data in real time. The sophisticated pump control system applies the target load via the hydraulic cylinder to the Test Pile a very high accuracy and efficiency.
